Temple Run 2 uses green arrows to fly over obstacles and clear platforms; blue arrows bounce around obstacles in the environment and are used for jumping.

Dropping items is done by either holding down the item item and using the force feedback button, or by pressing and holding on the item to drop it.

To activate the hands-free mode, the player takes off their VR headset, allows their device to be Temple run 2 game pad-compatible, and starts the game by selecting "Close" on the title screen.

If the player disables the force feedback feature and re-triggers it again before quitting the game, they are told that Temple Run 2 does not work with head mounted displays.

The player's character is invincible and invisible when invisible.

When the player is inside of an environment, they see a randomly placed environment sprite.

The player character can jump higher than normal and travel through walls.

The player character is also able to throw objects at enemies.

If the player throws an object, it will fly through a non-existent wall and impact the enemy.

If the enemy is still alive when the object reaches them, the enemy will absorb the object and deal increased damage to the player.

The game can be played by one person, or with up to 4 people in multiplayer.

Up to four players can play simultaneously, but when playing by teams, players must set a limit of how many can be in the game at once.

There is no online multiplayer.

The game was first introduced at Google I/O 2012 by Ben Ulrich, the engineering director at Oculus VR.

The developers of the game said that the game was developed with 3D positional tracking devices.

The game's demo was shown on a Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Because of the large sizes of Oculus Rift headsets, the developers are working on a smaller version of the game for smaller form-factor devices.

Ulrich stated that the Rift was not targeted for one specific form-factor device, but that it would be great to see the game on different devices.

The company has also said that the game is not a competitor of other mobile game; rather, it is something to improve the experience of mobile devices and reduce the chance of user's getting bored.

The game was announced on 14 February 2013, after initially being in the works during 2011.

It was shown as part of a Oculus demo at the 2012 Game Developers Conference.

"Temple Run 2" was announced to be available for iOS and Android devices.

On 19 June 2013, "Temple Run 2" was released on iOS in 64-bit on iPad 2 and later versions.

On 8 September 2013, "Temple Run 2" was released on Android on a number of devices, including the Nexus 5 and Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 3, the latter of which were given away for free.

"Temple Run 2" received "generally favorable".
