Faug Game Spot Game Night

 Faug Game Spot Game Night

“If someone invites you to play a game at their game night, it doesn’t mean they’re inviting you to a real game night,” says Drew Kuhn, co-founder of Game Spot, which brings together people of different ages to play a new game every week in downtown Chicago. “They might not even have a real board game at their house.

” The group meets at Game Spot on Thursday nights at 7:00 p.m., and usually plays an adult game. They also often have speed-based, self-described “touch-judging games,” like Cards Against Humanity, that give a set of guidelines for what counts as a win and a loss, but the actual outcome depends on you.

Whatever game you decide to play, plan to stay for at least an hour, preferably more than an hour. Game Night is a perfect opportunity to hang out with friends in an unplugged environment.

But the point isn’t to sit around and drink. You’re going to have fun!

If you’re feeling like you need a little guidance, consider planning a game night for your family or your neighborhood.

You can put together a family game night, hosting games from your home game library, with help from family members who are more experienced.

Organize a neighborhood game night, and invite neighbors to come over to play a game together. “Make it fun and make it something that everyone wants to do,” says Kuhn.

If you’re feeling a little creative, you can start a home game club. You can start with a couple friends, but if you like the idea, it’s easy to invite more people to your game nights.

It takes no money to host a game night. You can use snacks, games you already own, and whatever other fun things you can find around the house.

And if your neighborhood isn’t exactly filled with game nerds, maybe you should consider starting your own game club, too.

Munchkin Cards Against Humanity

Munchkin is a card game based on many of the jokes from the comedy website, Funny or Die.

A parent can introduce their kid to Munchkin, and then watch them make friends with other parents while they play games.

For both adults and kids, Munchkin is a good choice, though you’ll want to make sure you don’t get stuck playing the cards that have curse words in them, which are generally annoying to play.

The Whirlygig

As an adult, you can play The Whirlygig, an easy-to-learn game with no setup. It’s great for kids, adults, and everyone in between. It’s a game about cards and cardboard.

Your goal is to create the most elaborate tableau you can with your cards, either to impress the other players or to fool them into thinking that your tableau has more meaningful art, or something else, in it.

If you’re playing with young children, you can use a simple code language.
